We just returned from a wonderful activationlocated on the peak of the most scenic mountain in Canton Ticino (Swiss), only ruined by the storm and wind on Saturday evening, which forbitten us to operate during the night, moreover a very bad propagation. Nevertheless, we are satisfied with the 426 QSOs in the log, worked on all HF bands from 7 to 28 MHz, both in CW and SSB, VHF, UHF and in the "magic band" of 6 mt. There will be two separate stations, which were set up in two different rooms, which allowed us to operate simultaneously with filters Dunestar kindly put at our disposal by Matthias HB9ODP and we thank him a lot!

All is ready for the great activity to take place in the third weekend of July from the summit of Monte Lema, thanks to the excellent and impeccable organization of Claudio HB9OAU, helped by Mauro HB9FBG and Claudio HB9EFJ, will allow us to install three radio stations, and to operate in VHF, HF SSB and CW, with three of our "big guns" of  telegraphy like Joseph I2AZ , Jack IZ3DBA and Mauro HB9FBG.

We will be operating also during the night, having had access to a room adjacent to the garage, which will allow us to pass without causing any nuisance to other guests of the hut.

We dedicate this second activation from Canton Ticino to  this peak at 1624 meters of altitude, because it is a strategic point for Ham Radio and becuse the Monte Lema is a popular destination crossing Swiss and Italy, with most beautiful foothills overlooking Lugano and Veddasca Valley, with views over Lake Lugano and Lake Verbano. Known for the beautiful journey of trekking to Mount Tamaro, was also traced the path Insubric a ring in about an hour's walk ahead and you can admire from different views  our Insubria.

After spending the entire week before the activation to consult weather forecast bulletins, trusting in the mercy of Jupiter Pluvio, we ended up with a typically autumnal temperature of 8 ° C, strong wind and rain flying, but also the bad weather didn't stop us.
It was a flawless and masterful organization, organization and preparation of radio stations by Paul IK2ULB Robert IZ2FOB Iand Caesar, IK2SFM which allowed us to work "quietly" despite the adverse conditions and a special and heartfelt thanks go to Paul IK2ULB: he requested and obtained a special transit permit for two off-road vehicles on unpaved path "yard area" following the hydrogeological problems which caused a landslide.

This meant that Robert IZ2FOB arranged his Suzuki Jimny as a "radio station", while Paul IK2ULB made a shuttle service by car between the parking and  the place of activation (approximately 2 Km.)
The Regional Park of Spina Verde is really a wonderful location with its nature, rich in historical and religious, very important especially for the land of INSUBRIA and unfortunately it was penalized by the weather, which did not allow us to visit even in the most close places to our location, therefore we think to reschedule this activity the next year.
Concerning Ham Radio  we are very satisfied with the contacts made: 257 QSOs, 14 of which are operated in CW by Joseph  I2AZ,  conntacting all Italian regions and most countries in Europe.

Thanks to the great  organization by Paolo IK2ULB and Roberto IZ2FOB the Insubria Radio Team will be active from the natural Park Spina Verde, regional protected area with special geological features and vegetation, archeology - with ancient ruins of Como, where we find also the medieval Castle Baradello, moreover there are religious testimonies,  first of all the Basilicas of St. Carpoforo and S. Abbondio, places of traditional events such as the Church of St. Rocco in Cavallasca and the Cross of St. Eutyches - identifying the Spina Verde as their favorite venue for expressions of religious culture and for these reasons, then the reference DRI-I005 will be given to the Park, where there are archaeological finds dating from the culture of Golasecca, where Insubria was born.
Our activation will be sponsored by the Park Regional Spina Verde  and will be valid for the reference IFF314 and DCI-CO029, as well for EANET AWARD.
